Week 12 Update

How far along? 12 weeks, 3 days

How big is baby? The size of a plum! Still not up to an ounce yet, but that seems so substantial!

How am I feeling? Tiiirrreeedddd. Emotional. Sad. Fat. Bloated. Uncomfortable. I have my highs, too, for sure, but right now, I am feeling this first trimester heavy.

Weight? About +4. This fluctuates some. A little more than I'd like to see, but not too bad.

How am I changing? I'm doing my best to stay active, and managing to keep up a workout routine (pregnancy exercise DVD 5x/week, add preggo yoga 2x/week, walking the dogs ~5x/week), but I feel like such a bum. This is partly because of how tired I am, and partly because right now my physical changes just make it look like I do nothing but eat all day (which is only kind of true). Since I don't fit into any of my pants anymore, I'm permanently in yoga pants or workout shorts as much as possible and only try to make jeans or dresses work when I'm going out to something where bum clothes would be totally unacceptable (this does NOT include visiting friends, doctors appointments, or shopping). Hopefully my first pair of maternity jeans will come this week and maybe that will help!

What do I miss? I wouldn't call myself a drinker but any means, but man, I really miss being able to have a drink or 2 socially, especially given the environment we're in now.

Symptoms? The most obviously one (besides weight gain) is definitely acne, which is showing up all over the place. I'm breaking out in areas where I've never had an issue and it's becoming more of a problem than it was when I was in my early teens (EW). Have I mentioned I'm also tired?

Cravings? Ev.er.y.thing. I'm eating all the time. The only aversion I've had so far is to Japanese food...

What have been the highlights of the week? I got a chalkboard so we can start documenting baby and my growth! Fun times. Love seeing all the support from family and friends when we share :)

Andrew, my photographer, totally had me in stitches by the end of our photo session. He'd adopted a "New York robber" persona, where the character had stolen my phone and was explaining the 100 pictures we'd just taken that he found on it. Maybe you had to be there :)
