22 years

A small collection of some things that I have learned and/or believe to be true. In no particular order:

1) Get a good watch. Wear it everyday, even if it doesn't match your outfit.

2) If an ATM gives you too much money, or you're undercharged for a service, let the company know. If an employee gives you a discount and they probably shouldn't, smile and say thank you.

3) Always be gracious with unhappy people. It's the best thing you can do for them, and, by far, the best thing you can do for yourself.

4) Don't cheat yourself. If you're making a sacrifice, and it's not for a good reason, reevaluate.

5) Feeling guilty doesn't always mean what you're doing is wrong. Feeling good doesn't always make it right. But sometimes it does.

6) Appreciate loyalty.

7) Occasionally try things you're not good at again. Maybe you still aren't, but talents can change as quickly as tastes.

8) Surround yourself with photos that make you happy.

9) Do the things you don't want to do to get you to the things you do. But not for too long. And not with bitterness in your heart. If you're going to do it, give it your all.

10) Don't be afraid to sing out poorly in front of good singers. Especially when it's a great song.

11) Don't let trying a few things out turn into a refusal to commit to something.

12) Always stop lists on your lucky number.
