OK, so I know I'm super late in getting to photos of the house. Like, really, really late. In fact, the pictures I'm about to show you are from around Christmas time (hence the snowmen). And they're only of one area. I figure if I get started then I'll HAVE to take pictures of the rest of the house to share...right?
I present to you our kitchen!
So, I love my husband. Really I do. But he has this one thing about him (OK, maybe 2 or 3, but we'll stick with one for now) that kinda bugs me. He is forgetful. I love ya, babe, but it's true. He's always wandering around wondering where his keys/name tag/book/charger/wedding ring/etc. is. At least he's not one to panic. When I get frustrated because he's "lost" these things, he'll say, "it's not lost, it's here somewhere, I just don't know where". So I've tried to lovingly assist him in this by putting random collection bowls and key rings everywhere. That way, chances are one is within arm's length, and he'll drop items there instead of on top of a picnic basket in the laundry room behind the vacuum (for real??).
I looovvee this corner of my kitchen. Everything is so stainless steely and organized. Plus it houses our beloved Keurig (the 2nd after the first just stopped working). Oh, and some booze.
Not too shabby for military housing, eh? Well, technically it's privatized housing (whoever came up with that idea is rolling around in a pool filled with benjamins right about now), but still. The pantry was to my back when taking these photos-it's two sliding doors that span the dividing wall between the kitchen and living space.
One room down, 7 or so to go. Progress!
Tuesday's questions:
What I'm reading: Still "Oryx and Crake". I'm not rushing through it...
So in lieu of leaving it with that boring answer I'll add an extra:
What's in our Netflix: The "Memento" blu-ray has been sitting in our kitchen for a while waiting to be watched. When the hubs said he hadn't seen it, I put it as the first thing in our queue. But now it's a matter of convincing him to sit down and watch it. Seriously, it's worth it-why won't he believe me??
What I'm thankful for: People I can trust. I had to list some personal character references for some volunteer work, and I'm so thankful I've got folks out there who I know'll have my back!
What I'm looking forward to: I'm supposed to find out this week what day/age group I'll be working with at the Children's Grief Center. Stoked!
Last week's goal: OK, so I did a ton of brainstorming for my garden, but the hubs was a bit concerned about finances so I'm waiting for him to feel better to buy my bench, or maybe this one, or this one :).
A goal for the week: To mail out the paperwork sitting on the coffee table for OSC, turn in my paperwork for Children's Ministry, and take pictures of at least two other areas of the house!
Happy Tuesday!
